… good things are happening on the north side of town. If you follow the stream where it reappears north of Brock St., it will take you to the old mill. Remember the big fire there in 1921? After it was rebuilt, it changed hands many times and eventually became a tannery. Much of it was damaged in another fire in 1961 but last year two local business partners bought it and spent seven months bringing the landmark back to life.
Don Andrews and Conrad Lepine salvaged as much of the old wood, flooring and tin panels as they could to create a rustic 75-seat restaurant that exudes old-world charm and character. With market-fresh, made-from-scratch fare available in the dining rooms, takeout area, food shop and catering service, the Tin Mill was an instant hit when it opened for business.
