Purpose of project

·         To make existing labs accessible and barrier free.

·         To create barrier free washrooms on each floor.

·         Upgrade labs and family studies rooms

·         Relocate popular horticulture program from crammed facilities in existing biology Lab to new greenhouse with adjoining classroom space.

First Floor

·         Utilize part of existing locker area to create new barrier free washroom

·         New greenhouse and classroom addition. 345 SM

Second Floor

·         Renovate existing biology lab to make barrier free.  New barrier free work station. New demo desk. Rework existing doorway to corridor to meet barrier free requirements.  Horticulture program relocated to new greenhouse.

·         Renovate existing chemistry lab to make barrier free. New barrier free work station. New demo desk. Rework existing doorway to corridor to meet barrier free requirements.  Remove existing perimeter work stations and island units and provide new

·         Provide new fume hood and millwork in adjacent prep room.

·         New demo bench in existing science room and existing art room. As existing classrooms have only one exit door  existing gas supply removed to comply with OBC exit requirements for hazardous classrooms.

·         Take part of existing washroom to create new barrier free washroom

Third Floor

·         Renovate existing Physics Lab to make barrier free.  New barrier free work station. New demo desk. Rework existing doorway to corridor to meet barrier free requirements. 

·         New demo bench in existing science room.

·         Change existing unused prep room to teachers work room with individual work stations.

·         Complete renovation of existing Family Studies. New demo desk with mirror over. New student work centres.

·         Take part of existing washroom to create new barrier free washroom
